Palmetto Cove is a non-profit, volunteer-run RV park in the upstate of South Carolina. (Why RV-only? Read more here.) We are a quiet, family-friendly spot for both individual RV’ers and large group events. The park operates from April to Mid-November. Click here to see our rates.
All sites are level, and have water, sewer and electric connections. Many of the sites are pull-through. Pets are welcome, but must be on leash at all times, and owners must clean up after their pets. Some areas are off-limits to pets.
Facilities include:
- A large furnished picnic shelter with outdoor fireplace (wood on-site), grills, and horseshoe area
- A clubhouse with coffee area, lounge, game tables and piano
- A group meeting hall with folding tables and chairs, platform stage, and fully-equipped kitchen
- Laundromat
- Walking and biking areas, and river access.
- Wi-Fi – Ask for the access code when you sign in at the office.
If you are planning a group event, you will need to reserve ahead; otherwise, reservations are not required (and virtually never needed). You can phone the park at (864) 836-6221 to make group reservations. You can aslo email: host AT palmettocove DOT com .
I’ll continue adding more information about the park as I get this blog built; in the meantime, please visit our website at www.palmettocove.com. You can find a brochure with driving directions on that site.
What does the place look like? For a quick photo-tour of the park, take a look this post: Martin Miller’s photos from the 2008 State Airstream Rally.
Trails On-Site: For a description of the first section of on-site hiking / mountain biking trails, look at this post. For a trail map, look at this google map.
And here are a few observations about accessibility for campers with mobility and wheelchair-access concerns. Not the final word, but enough to get you started on your trip-planning, and give you an idea of what questions to ask concerning your specific needs.
